been a while...

sorry for the lacks of posts, last week was crazy. I finally moved into a new apartment with my girlfriend. the apartment is great!, i love it. There is still much to be done to the place but all in do time i guess. my mac is still in a box waiting to see some sunlight. hopefully i can get a desk and start arranging the studio so i can get some work going.

here are a couple of emily drawings i have done over the past couple of days. i would have to say the top one is my favorite one, the rest i am not too crazy about about. it's always fun and at the same time frustrating drawing with a pen because once you put your mark down there is no going back and the pen is not as forgiving as a pencil. but i find it to be challenging, so maybe that's why i enjoy it, i never know what end end result will be, i try to be loose in my mark making but there are times where i stiffen up , much like in the drawing below where i wrote my frustration.

i struggled a lot with this painting, i was really rusty. it took me sometime to get used to the medium again but i do feel this painting was good practice. i'm not completely happy with it but i'm hoping the next one turns out better.

also, i finally finished the oil painting i previously posted, so i'll be putting it up sometime this week once i photograph it.

sorry for the lack of posts, weekends have been a bit hectic with apartment hunting.
i'm still working with the painting i previously posted although it looks quite different from before. at one point i got frustrated with the painting and rub the whole thing off with turpentine and got a good clean start on it, so i'm hoping to finish it soon.

it's been sometime since i have painted with oils so i was a bit rusty coming into this painting, but i feel like i am beginning to get a feel for the medium again. anyways this is just a peek at what i've been working on, though it is still far from being done, so keep your eyes peel.

Emily was kind enough to take me out to carnegie hall for my first symphony experience, and it was just amazing.the baltimore symphony orchestra performed stravinky's firebird suite plus 3 other pieces, but by far, my favorite was stravinky's piece.
i managed to create a few doodles while sitting down. the composer was really fun to watch and study her quick and expressive gestures, which i tried to capture but i think i kinda failed, nonetheless it was still fun to try. the other is a brush drawing of Emily done while in intermission.

so i made the banner on top at 750x200 pixels, but for some reason it keeps getting cropped on top and i can't figure out how to fix it. i've been going over the hmtl on the template but i can't pin point what i'm doing wrong. anyone got any suggestions?
