sunday brush drawing

i finally picked up a new brush pen, so to everyone's delight(hopefully) the sunday brush drawing is back!

i had a lot of fun painting this thing. the only problem i encountered was putting the head back on, i was trying to be careful so as not to scratch the paint off, but in the end i still had to go back and do a little retouching.

life painting study.

i have not painted from life since college so i was very timid in the beginning of this painting. but once i warmed up and started feeling more confident on my mark making i began to have fun. unfortunately emily's back started hurting her and she was also falling asleep, so this was a quick study for me, which is what i wanted it to be from the beginning. she posed for about an hour and this was painted on watercolor paper with oils and it measures about 12x 12 inches.
hopefully this gets the blood going for me, i would really like to make time to do more paintings like this.
