portraits

so i recently made the move to new york in the hopes of jump starting my career. My good friend and talented artist Jake(check out his blog on my links) asked me if i wanted to move in with him, i of course, jumped at the chance. thought it's been somewhat of a struggle i can't really complain.i have enjoyed my time here. so i decided to record this moment in time by doing some quick brush portraits of my roommates, including myself, since i'm a bit rusty. anyways this are the results. more to come that's for sure.

as simple as this image is, it took me a couple of hours to do. especially the type. i wrote it so many times over and over in the span of an hour, after a while i started cursing outloud, it was really a pain in the ass to get the brush to do what i want it it to do. i could have fucked with it some more i guess, but in the end i still had fun doing this piece. it went thru so many changes.

this was pain in the ass to do, it's been a while since i have painted with acryics anything this tight and small(8x10)
color is a bit off, i tried messing with the hue/saturation , but i gave it after a couple of minutes.
